Oval Gear Flow Meter

  • The oval gear flowmeter (also known as displacement flowmeter, gear flowmeter) is a type of volumetric flowmeter, and is a type of flow meter with higher accuracy. It uses mechanical measuring elements to continuously divide the fluid into a single known volume portion, and measures the total flow volume according to the number of times the metering chamber is filled and discharged repeatedly. The oval gear flowmeter can be made of different materials (cast iron, cast steel, 304 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel), and is suitable for flow measurement in chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical, electric power, metallurgy, food and other industrial sectors.

The flowmeter consists of a metering box and a pair of oval gears installed in the metering box, which form a sealed crescent-shaped cavity with the upper and lower covers (due to the rotation of the gears, it is not relatively sealed) as the calculation unit of one displacement.

When the measured liquid enters the flowmeter through the pipeline, the pressure difference generated at the inlet and outlet drives a pair of gears to rotate continuously, and continuously transports the liquid measured by the crescent-shaped cavity to the outlet. The product of the number of revolutions of the oval gear and four times the displacement each time is the total amount of the measured liquid flow (see the figure for the principle). The flowmeter is mainly composed of a housing, a counter, an oval gear and a coupling (divided into magnetic couplings and axial couplings).

Remarks Cast iron materials cannot work in an environment below -10℃, otherwise they are easily damaged.

 

1. Accuracy level 0.5, 0.2 (general medium temperature is -10℃~+60℃).  

2. Use medium temperature: (ambient temperature can be -10℃~+60℃).

   -10℃~+60℃; under high temperature adjustment, adding high temperature heat sink can reach 60℃~200℃.

3. Remote display on-site explosion-proof level: ExiaⅡCT5, dⅡBT4.

Note: When the temperature of the measured liquid is higher than 80℃, the upper limit flow rate of the flow meter is 90% of the original upper limit flow rate of the flow meter, and the lower limit flow rate should be 120% of the original lower limit flow rate of the flow meter. When the viscosity of the measured liquid is higher than 2000mPa.s, please consult and place an order.
