As metal tube float flowmeters are used in more and more industries, more people have a certain understanding of them, and know their uses and characteristics. In the process of using metal tube float flowmeters, users will encounter different situations, but the most common one is that the pointer is stuck, or the pointer has different degrees of jitter.

 

1. Pointer jitter

Slight jitter is generally caused by the natural flow of fluid and does not affect normal use. The damping parameters can be appropriately increased in the instrument settings. Severe jitter is generally caused by medium fluctuations and pulsations. Another reason is incorrect installation. The installation conditions do not meet the requirements of the flow meter and exceed the measurable range of the flow meter.

 

2. Pointer does not move

Generally, the float is stuck and cannot move up and down with the flow of fluid. This phenomenon has occurred in many metal tube float flowmeters in our factory. After disassembly and inspection, it was found that it was caused by the stuck float. Further analysis of the cause is that the guide shaft of the float has formed a groove due to years of grinding. The guide shaft rotates and is stuck with the D-shaped fixing ring, causing the float to be unable to move. Our solution is to expand the D-shaped hole into a circular hole so that the float can move up and down, so that the instrument can resume operation without replacement. Another reason is that the magnetic steel on the float absorbs the ferromagnetic material in the medium, which accumulates over time and forms a scale-like combination, causing the float to move inflexibly or even unable to move. In this case, it is necessary to install a filter device, clean it in time, and maintain it regularly before it can be used normally.

3. The flow meter has no display

It may be that the power supply is poorly contacted or the wiring is detached. Check whether the power supply is normal, whether the wiring is tight, whether the positive and negative poles are connected in reverse, etc. Another reason is that the internal circuit of the flow meter is damaged, the display component is damaged, and the solution is to replace the circuit board display component, etc.
